Monday, May 24
6:00 am:  Arrive at Colrain Central School, load the bus, say our good-byes
6:30 am:  Depart for Washington, D.C.
12:00 pm:  Ferry to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty
2:00 pm:  Re-board bus to Washington, D.C.
6:00 pm:  Arrive in Washington, D.C.  Picnic at the Washington Monument (Thank you Mrs. Hillman for packing a picnic dinner for 47 hungry travelers!)
6:30 pm:   Walking tour of some of the monuments around the National MallWashington Monument, World War II Memorial, and Lincoln Memorial
8:30 pm:  Check in at hotel
9:00 pm:  Group meeting
9:30 pm:  Lights out!

Tuesday, May 25
6:30 am:  Rise and shine!
7:00 am:  Breakfast
8:00 am:  Walking tour of more monuments around the National Mall:  Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Walk to the Tidal Basin; visit the Japanese Pagoda
10:30 am:  Ford's Theater and Peterson House  (souvenir shop)
12:00 pm:  Lunch at the  Old Post Office Pavilion
1:00 pm:  Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
3:00 pm:  National Museum of American History
4:00 pm:  Albert Einstein Memorial
4:30 pm:  Dinner
6:00 pm:  Kennedy Center (We will attend a Youth Orchestra Day performance: Washington D.C. area's most promising high school students, performing side-by-side with the National Symphony Orchestra musicians)
7:30 pm:  Return to hotel
8:15 pm:  Group Meeting
9:00 pm:  Lights Out!

Wednesday, May 26
6:30 am:  Rise and Shine!
7:00 am:  Breakfast
8:00 am:  Walking tour of more monuments around the National Mall:  Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Korean War Veterans Memorial
9:00 am:  White House Visitor Center
9:30 am:  White House (self-guided tour)
10:30 pm:  Renwick Art Gallery
11:30 pm:  Lunch at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center
1:15 pm:  U.S. Capitol Building guided tour
2:15 pm:  Library of Congress and Supreme Court (walk-by tour of both sites)
2:30 pm:  Embassy Row and Vice-Presidential Mansion (Number One Observatory Circle) (drive-by tour of both sites)
3:00 pm:  Smithsonian National Zoological Park  (souvenir shop)
5:30 pm:  Dinner at Union Station
7:00 pm:  Twilight Tattoo at Fort McNair
8:30 pm:  Return to hotel
9:00 pm:  Group Meeting
9:30 pm:  Lights Out!

Thursday, May 27
7:00 am:  Rise and Shine!
7:30 am:  Breakfast
8:30 am:  National Gallery of Art - Sculpture Garden  (Photos and descriptions of 17 sculptures in the Garden)
10:00 am:  National Archives  (including the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom, the permanent home of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution of the United States, and Bill of Rights.)
10:45 am:  U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum (Remember the Children: Daniel's Story)
11:30 am:  Lunch at the Potbelly Sandwich Shop
1:00 pm:  Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum
3:00 pm:  Pentagon  guided tour
3:45 pm:  Ride the Washington Metro Blue Line from the Pentagon station to the Arlington Cemetery station
4:00 pm:  Arlington National Cemetery and the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial (also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial)
6:30 pm:  Dinner (backyard barbecue)
8:30 pm:  Return to hotel
9:00 pm:  Group Meeting
9:30 pm:  Lights Out!

Friday, May 28
6:30 am:  Rise and Shine!
7:00 am:  Breakfast
7:45 am:  Check out and head north
12:00 pm:  Stop in Philadelphia? Visit the U.S. Mint, Independence Hall, and Liberty Bell ?
2:30 pm:  Head for home
9:30 pm:  Return to Colrain
